Fine time at Venerdi - Tuesday 29th September

Lorenzo, Saheed, Kevin, Carlos, Floriana & Keir
Tuesday 29th September, CCH had a fine time at Venerdi to celebrate our new working partnership, the Venerdi race bike and winning the cycling event in this years London Youth Games. Well done to the restaurant staff and chef team for catering for us so well with excellent, authentic Italian food, drinks and gelato.
More good news:- Venerdi will provide a % discount (amount TBC) for all CC Hackney members' that produce their up to date membership card at check out.

Contact Keir@cyclingclubhackney.co.uk regarding membership cards.

It was also all about the bike...a classic Pinarello racer converted to show out for Venerdi. This bike will be in action soon with young CCH rider Israel Oketade; definitely ready to go in the autumn hill climbs coming up and also in some remaining season circuit races.

CCHackney Late Summer Circuit Races - Results

Clover Murray wins the womens race
The late summer CCH circuit races brought forth the sunshine and a bunch of well contested races especially in the Youth categories. As we suspected there is an appetite out there for road racing in the youth categories that extends beyond July and the nationals - hopefully more organisers will take note of this next year.

Thanks to all CCH members and friends who came down to help out and to Hub Velo for supplying prize bottles. Results below are provisional but having reviewed the judges photos and footage I can't see much to disagree with - especially where points are concerned - however if you spot any glaring errors contact me before Wednesday when I'll post to BC as confirmed results.
I'll also put up a gallery of photos on CCH website once i've looked through them all.

CCH adult velodrome training report.

CCH's last adult track training session for the 2014-15 series went on last night. The final event was well attended; 33 riders taking to the boards with CC Hackney's track coaches myself & Neil. We are proud of our safety record and high attendance over that last 16 months. it's also been something special in that we have cemented many new friendships with associate members from other local clubs; Ciclos Uno, Schils Interbike, Crest, Victoria CC, London Dynamo and Eagle, to name check most of them.

It was great to see so many regular faces there who have all made our training rewarding to coach and fun to attend, I'm happy to have seen our riders improve and grow into good and fit cyclists, many of whom are now competing and doing well in races.

Before our proposed restart (at some point in 2016) there will be a 'reunion' session that is booked for Monday 28th December 1-3pm. Look out for a notification to our Rider HQ page to take your place in this one.

Cheers - Keir Apperley

Jason Butler - update

CC Hackney member Jason Butler has returned to London after spending the summer training and racing in the USA. He said that he has learned a lot by sharing track time with some of the worlds best track sprinters. He also mentioned that all of these riders, (that he was with in the UCI points qualifying events) were most supportive and encouraging towards him and his aims. Londoner Jason has a mandate from the Cycling Federation of Nigeria to represent and compete in international qualifying events events leading to the Commonwealth and Olympic games.
This winter Jason will be recharging and back in training ahead of his target events in 2016.

Local business to sponsor CC Hackney

I'm pleased to announce that local Italian restaurant Venerdi on Chatsworth Road are now working together with CC Hackney by supporting a young rider access quality cycle sport.
To start with, this backing will be by supplying a branded quality road bike to use in races and training. The date for our launch event for this initiative is Tuesday 29th September 2015 from 7pm with fine hospitality at Venerdi 9 Chatsworth Road, London  E5 0LH
The frame finisher is also a local business called Armourtex, they have a keen interest in this project as does our decal supplier Pegatin

*This event will also serve as our planned victory celebration for our wining London Youth Games team.

Spread the word, hope to see you there!
