A racing bike in the making
Following our fund raiser event at the Concorde Centre of Friday 19the December, here's an image of what's coming up as a result:

...we raised enough for a £350.00 rebuild racing bike.
A big thank you going out to all that supported and came along to the CCH Fund Raiser Party at the Concorde Centre Youth Hub last Friday evening. It was a lot of fun with good Caribbean food (thanks to Hackney Homes) a right mix of music plus BASS, volleyball, table tennis, hoola hooping, and MC free-styling.
A special mention must go to Interlinkx CiC staff; Kevin Cabey & Sulaymaan Altamash who helped me as sound hands moving the MiHS system to and from the venue. I had a bad back - honest! Thanks and praise is also due for staff and management at the Concorde Centre & Hackney Marsh Partnership for facilitating this event.
Including the match funding from an anonymous donation and with the support of Hub Velo I'm pleased to say that we raised enough for a £350.00 rebuild racing bike. This will be number one of the 'fleet' to be available for training and racing early in the new year. A date for the next fund raiser event No.2 with added 'wow factor' will be publicised in due course. This show is expected to include an exclusive film premier from the CC Hackney production crew that is James, Daniel & Bjorn.
Anyone interested in volunteering as part of the next event management team? Do contact me: keir@cyclingclubhackney.co.uk and/or our new CCH social secretary Mike Mooney.

UCI World Cup news

The
Full Gas Track League takes a break this week to make way for the UCI
World Cup's return to the 'Pringle' for the first time since February
2012.
CCH
coach Neil Irons will be operating the starting gate during the
UCI Track World Cup at Lea Valley Velodrome. The 2nd round of this
seasons World Cup series sees top class track riders back at the 2012
Olympic venue including a strong British team.
Neil
will be wheeling the 68kg start gate on and off the track throughout
the qualifying
sessions
with Fridays session comprising mainly pursuits; he'd better have his
porridge before going down there!
