Snow didn’t deter six stalwarts of this year’s Eastern Cross
setting off bright and early for Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk for the leagues
final round,on Sunday 19th January
The course set up on a schools playing field proved to be
fairly technical, off chamber parts, great zigzag part along a slope (ride-able
for some!), single track though wood and a surprising leg sapping flat
including a hurdle, all this made trickier by the couple of inches of snow that
covered a majority of the course.

Harry finished just outside the top 10 plagued by his chain
jumping off (chain catcher in the post!).
Three riders Artie, Stanley & Harry rode the in the U12s
(also including the U10s)– Artie took a nasty fall and had to retire,
which was hard luck as he was putting in a good ride. Stanley finished 5th in his U10
group whilst Harry (U12) was 16th.
Conditions seemed not to deter first year Youth rider Frank
as he had his best ride of the year getting second placed U14.

All the riders that have taken part in the Eastern League
would like to thank all the Clubs and Officials who have put on a great series,
every event we have ridden has been very well organised, results are posted
before you really had a chance to warmed down! Each course has been different
but all challenging hopefully we can get more riders involved next year! We will all be
back.
