A cycle industry sponsor for CC Hackney...

A cycle industry sponsor for CC Hackney...

CCH and Giant Docklands have been in discussions for quite some time about forming a working partnership where shared aims and ambitions around raising cycle sport for all can be better realised. Below is a recent email received from Giant Docklands that gives an update of where discussions have led to at this stage:

Dear Keir

I hope that you are well.

As mentioned when we last met, we are very supportive of the work you are doing at CCH. We would love to be able to assist with everything we have discussed so far but in reality we need to break down what we can do for you immediately and what will need some  more time to develop; possibly with the help of Giant UK.

Following on from our recent meetings we have listed below some of the services and benefits that we are able to offer CCH in the short term:
  • To offer your signed up membership card holders the option of a free bike safety check (offer ends November 2014)
  • To offer your signed up membership card holders 50% off any of our service plans (offer ends November 2014)
  • To offer your signed up membership card holders a 10% discount on all bikes and accessories (offer ends November 2014)
  • To service CCH loan/session bikes free of charge (to confirm how many of these there are first)
  •  To consider offering part time work experience in our store to one of your members
I know that you were up for including some of our ideas in your brochure and maybe to position our logo onto your club kit and this is much appreciated. I have attached some Giant Docklands artwork for you. In the mean time we would be happy to continue working with you on a “wishlist” with the intention of formalising an arrangement with even more value to the club in the long term. Some of the ideas discussed with this view in mind include:
  • To provide Saturday morning support for a youth programme of coaching at the Lee Valley Velopark (to establish how many people we will need on the ground to support this)
  • To consider sponsoring of an all day event at the LVV Velodrome
  • To look at the possibility of forming a racing team to enter races at regional level
  • To look at supporting some of the long term trips currently being considered by CCH (Tour l'Ain)
  • To take an active part in the new concept 'Velodrome Passport' currently under development (maybe you want us to attend a meeting with you to visit the development manager at Lee Valley Velodrome to investigate any opportunities that may exist)
  • To look at including other boroughs at some stage (Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Newham, Greenwich)
We have put a time limit of end November on this but would be happy to extend or reassess this if the promotion is successful. We also have a very active social media campaign and would be happy to consider promoting CC Hackney at some stage.

Finally, your invite to our Giant Docklands staff and our key clients to participate in CC Hackney's coaching sessions in future is interesting, especially the opportunity to train with you on the Lea Valley Velodrome. This would also be a very good time to meet your club members as would be when CC Hackney visits us at our shop - you are all welcome any time we are open!

I look forward to hearing from you.
