Who we are

2009 & 2010 London Youth Games cycling champions, 2011 Tour de l'Ain Cyclo team prize winners & one of the best cycling clubs in Hackney.

Cycling Club Hackney is dedicated to promoting cycling & cycle sport for all levels and ages. We have an active youth section to cater for young people between the ages of 8 and 18. All coaching activities are provided by qualified coaches who have attended good practice and child protection training. Our club coaches are CRB checked and are qualified with up to date First Aid certificates.

Adults/Seniors

Currently there are two Sunday club runs to choose from:

1. Early Risers ride setting off from the club HQ - 1 Olympus Square, Nightingale Estate, London, E5 8PL at 8am on Sunday mornings. new riders are welcome to turn up and ride - we hope you'll enjoy it enough to want to join the club.

New from Sunday 11th Dec. 2. The Get Set group Traveling further and faster, this ride is for those looking for and extra hour in bed (:)) and something more zippy and challenging on the bike, building towards the racing season. Meeting 9am at 1 Olympus Sq, E5 8PL. The anticipated average speed for December is around 27kmph including 'chase and wait' sections. Looking to increase through Jan & Feb - weather permitting.

Juniors
On Saturday mornings there are coaching sessions for our 8-13 year old members and another group for 13+ development riders. Meeting for 10am at the club HQ - 1 Olympus Square, Nightingale Estate, London, E5 8PL. Cost - £1. Depending on what's on the programme this session lasts between 2 and 3 hours.
CCH are now offering coaching to 6-8 year olds on Saturday mornings, note there are limited spaces and parents must stay with their child.

Wednesday nights club members can use the HQ from 8pm onwards to meet , chat , plan rides, fix bikes or train on the spinners and turbo trainers.

SAFETY NOTICES

Lea Bridge Road - The shortest way to the green stuff from Hackney is via LBR. Reminding all riders: this is a complex and busy road that presents many hazards to cyclists, please head up and down LBR with extra caution.

Woodford & Epping Road - car drivers pick up speed on this road even though there are places where it narrows, with junctions and traffic islands. Please refrain from riding two a breast along this section.
