Alex Peters in action at Hog Hill
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our young rider Alex Peters did a couple of races at Hog Hill over the Easter weekend - a few pictures were posted on the London Cycle Sport website. http://tinyurl.com/c7vhzo
At the East London Velo event on Saturday Alex came 9th. All through Monday's very wet race he stayed with the leading group, at one point he survived a low speed tumble on a tight hairpin corner to regain his position at the head of the field. In the end he finished 11th, he did this despite tired limbs after he had decided to do a long ride the day before.
Alex is keen to improve on these performances, his last massed start race was back in 2006. Could 2009 be a significant year for one of our leading competitors?

CCH - fastest youth riders at Chelmer CC hard-riders event
March 29th '09
Chelmer CC Jim Perrin memorial 'hilly' 25m TT in north Essex.
Clem Berrill & Tao Geoghegan Hart came top place in their respective age categories with an additional prize going to Clem for winning his classification against all age groups. Both young riders were on conventional road bikes as opposed the specifically equipped TT machines most other riders were using, to add to this they were competing at a distance not tried before - away the lads!
The pictures show our riders receiving their awards in front of the results board. A total of seven CCH riders competed in this event all finishing with creditable times. Youth riders Alex Peters & David Dryburgh were backed up by the adults; Mick Smith, Tom Silverlock & yours truly - Keir Apperley.
