CCH Youth Springfield Hill Climb 2015 - results

It looks flat from space....

... but as Patrick here will testify its anything but.
Yup its definitely steep -

The annual CCH Youth Springfield Hill Climb was held today with 44 riders from the Concorde and nightingale groups turning up to do battle with the hill which tops out at over 20% gradient over the course of 200m. In other words its short but it is brutal.

- but that doesn't deter Kai here going flat out

The riders were set of a minute apart with the youngest age group going first - many of them tackling the hill for the first time. Milo set the fastest under 8 time following on from his recent win in the YHPSCL hill climb at the same venue. Well done to newcomer Blessed who won the girls under 8s.

The under 8 podium - Nasy 2nd, Milo 1st, Zuzana - 2nd.

Under 8's results - (girls in green)
The under 10s category was very close with less than three seconds covering the top five riders with Anoushka coming out on top followed closely by Nashane.

The under 10 podium - Robbie 3rd, Nashane 1st and Anoushka 1st.
Under 10s results
The under 12s saw times start to dip below 30 seconds with a great 25.3 seconds win for Tom with William close on his heels and Yande being top girl.

The Under 12 podium - William 2nd , Tom 1st and Mack 3rd.

Under 12s results
The under 14s were really flying up the hill with two riders beating the course record of 21.9 seconds set two years ago by Aminur. Kai came in at 21.1 and Sam smashed it with a 20.3. Olivia was fastest girl at 29.

Rasan blocking out the noise of the crowd

but Khariri matches him for speed

The under 14s podium - Elliot M 3rd, Sam 1st, Kai 2nd and Olivia 1st.

Under 14s results
Elliot H on his way to matching the old record.

The under 16s were few in number but blink and you missed them - although someone told me they stopped half way up to chat with the squirrels - Jessie set the fastest girls time of the day and female course record of 25.7 seconds. Elliot hit the same mark as the old course record and Logan put it to bed with a blistering 18.3 seconds - setting a new mark for every one to aim at next year.

Logan sets the new course record of 18.3 seconds.

Under 16s results
Um - Bill and Ben and the other one,,,?

Well done to all and thanks to all our volunteers for helping out.

Fine time at Venerdi - Tuesday 29th September

Lorenzo, Saheed, Kevin, Carlos, Floriana & Keir
Tuesday 29th September, CCH had a fine time at Venerdi to celebrate our new working partnership, the Venerdi race bike and winning the cycling event in this years London Youth Games. Well done to the restaurant staff and chef team for catering for us so well with excellent, authentic Italian food, drinks and gelato.
More good news:- Venerdi will provide a % discount (amount TBC) for all CC Hackney members' that produce their up to date membership card at check out.

Contact Keir@cyclingclubhackney.co.uk regarding membership cards.

It was also all about the bike...a classic Pinarello racer converted to show out for Venerdi. This bike will be in action soon with young CCH rider Israel Oketade; definitely ready to go in the autumn hill climbs coming up and also in some remaining season circuit races.

CCHackney Late Summer Circuit Races - Results

Clover Murray wins the womens race
The late summer CCH circuit races brought forth the sunshine and a bunch of well contested races especially in the Youth categories. As we suspected there is an appetite out there for road racing in the youth categories that extends beyond July and the nationals - hopefully more organisers will take note of this next year.

Thanks to all CCH members and friends who came down to help out and to Hub Velo for supplying prize bottles. Results below are provisional but having reviewed the judges photos and footage I can't see much to disagree with - especially where points are concerned - however if you spot any glaring errors contact me before Wednesday when I'll post to BC as confirmed results.
I'll also put up a gallery of photos on CCH website once i've looked through them all.
